Graduate School
The main objective of the Graduate school is to provide excellent, multi-facetted training while conducting high quality research at the interface of molecular tumor biology, immunology and inflammation. Due to the interdepartmental approach of the LOEWE Research program and laboratory rotations, graduate students will learn how to work in teams composed of experts from different disciplines. This academic training is structurally supported by seminars, progress reports and journal clubs on key aspects of tumorbiology and inflammation.

To guarantee an effective mentoring each graduate student will be supervised individually by his/her specific advisory board consisting of at leat two members of the LOEWE Research program. Graduates will meet their advisory board semi-annually to get adequate scientific and personal assistance and support over the entire graduate phase.
Beyond the excellent scientific training a further goal is to support the graduates in their personal development and to delinate long-term prospects. For this a broad range of soft-skill courses are offered in collaboration with the MArburg University Research Academy (MARA) an initiative of the Philipps-University to support young academics at their different career steps.

The graduate school also feels obligate to those students tending to go for a career beyond the academia. To meet their demands, too a first contact to potential employers are arranged by organizing visits to pharmaceutical companies annually.

The entire package of the graduate school is suitable to guarantee a comprehensive training allowing a post-doctoral career in academia as well as in non-academia.
